Aion Online Kinah : The Tower of Eternity (in Japan referred to as "The Tower of AION" and Aion in North America) is a massive multiplayer online role-playing game. Aion Kinah combines PvE and PvP (a concept called PvPvE) into a fantasy game environment.
Aion Kinah was released by a Korean game developer named NCsoft. The introduction of Aion Online Kinah was announced in May 2006 at the E3 Expo. Closed beta testing started in late 2007 with open beta testing happening in 2008. In 2008, the localized Chinese version also started closed beta testing with open beta testing starting in 2009. Aion Kinah was also localized for various Western markets (including Europe, Australia and North America) in 2009. During a September 2009 testing, an anti-cheat program (called GameGuard) was removed. Asian markets used GameGuard to stop cheating and botting. Although it is still used in Asian markets, the Western markets do not use GameGuard. In 2010, NCSoft announced the plans for a major update. This update would include the overhauling of the Cry Engine graphics engine.
Aion Online Kinah allows the user to create character with amazing flexibility. You can adjust your characters weight, height and the scale of various body parts. You can choice between many different skin colors, hair styles, voices and facial textures. You can even do further detailing on your character. This includes selections on ear size, nose shape, shape and color of the eye, ear size and tattoos.
Nor does the customization end there. Aion Kinah allows a user to change the color of their equipment and the graphic associated with the armor or weapon. This amazing feature allows a user to make equipment visually appealing while still benefiting from the statistics of that armor or weapon. It should be noted that the graphics of a user's weapon can only be changed to the graphic of a piece of equipment of the same type.
The end game of Aion Kinah takes place within the game's PvP zone (referred to as the Abyss). Within the Abyss, there are fortresses. These fortresses are controlled by Legions. These Legions are similar to the guild. Combat between computer controlled NPC and players of opposing factions dictates the control of these castles. Each side uses siege weapon seized from the end game PvE raid content. The Legions in charge of a castle can raise funds from taxes. The players within these factions also get specials from NPCs and discounts for vender items and travel. With the exception of duels and practice within the Arena, Aion Online Kinah does not allow factions to fight their own race
To participation in PvP, you need to get Abyss Points within the game. Aion Online ranks players using battles won against fellow players who have participated within the Abyss. Upon higher ranks, the player's wings will change their appearance in order to show their elevated status. Certain items, such as high-end weapons and armor and weapons, can be bought with these points. This whole process is called the Abyss Rank system. Only a few high ranked players are allowed on each server. The highest ranking players will compete for these few positions. A player gains Abyss points by killing another player. The higher a rank, the more points a player gets. A player loses points when killed.
Within Aion Kinah , there are 4 primary classes (Scout, Warrior, Mage or Priest). When a player attains level 9, they must choice a specialized class. Each specialized class is associated with a primary class. Warriors get to choice between a Gladiator or a Templar. A Mage can become either a Spirit Master or a Sorcerer. Scouts get to become either a Ranger or an Assassin. Priests can choice between a Chanter or a Cleric.
