Anarchy Online Credits was created by Funcom. It has the distinction of being one of the few popular MMORPGs that is set in a science fiction future. Anarchy Online Credits is also the first MMORPG to use the "instance-dungeon system".
When creating a character, players choose between four breeds. Each breed has its own skills and stats. Each character must also choice one of fourteen professions and then one of three factions. The choices made here dictate how your character will develop in Anarchy Credits. As with many online MMORPGs, players in Anarchy Credits get levels and experience points by completing missions and through combat. A character's capabilities, however, are impacted more so called by "Improvement Points" than by their levels. These Improvement points are given to a player when he/she reached each level. These points can then be spent to raise any skills of their choice.
At the start of your character's journey, the player's spaceship falls to earth and he/she does smaller missions in order to learn the basics. It is here that your character will decide which allies it wants.
While playing AO Credits, players explore dungeons (most of which require teams of players and each contains unique items and enemies and items), fighting camps of enemies found in the wilderness, tackle instanced missions which are offered by NPCs or at terminals, creating items, engaging in various types of PvP combat and role playing in many non-combat areas such as nightclubs.
When you play Anarchy Online Credits, you can make use of several different means of transportation. There are ground based vehicles (Kodiaks), air-based vehicles (Yalmahas), and water-based vehicles which resemble hovercrafts.
The story of Anarchy Online Credits centers around event on a plant called Rubi-Ka and Rubi-Ka's extra dimensional twin (called the shadowlands). In the distant future, this distant and desert world is engulfed in a war between two factions. The center of this conflict is an unassuming mineral which is notum. Notum, which is only found on Rubi-Ka, is a key component of nanotechnology. The properties of this technology are similar to that of magic. One of these factions (the rebellious Clan) grew tired of working the notum mines as only the rival clan (Omni-Tek) gained all of the rewards from the unrestricted control of the planet. The conflict started to organize a notum black market. They then start to exclude personnel from Omni-Teak. Thus a civil war starts and there is no end in sight. By entering this world, you got to choice a side or stay neutral and create your own destiny.
In spite of many the bugs and bad press during its launch, Anarchy Online Credits servers had over thirty five thousand players before 4/6/2001. Since the game was made available in France 28/9/2001, a lot of the worse bugs had been solved. The game has since gained the title of "Best Multiplayer Game of Show" with the ECTS.
Since then, several extensions for the game have been published. Notum Wars was available for free since 27/10/2006. In it, players can control the ground of Rubi-Ka in order to exploit the notum for their account. With this, they can improve their character's characteristics.
The next extension package was called the Shadowlands. It introduced two new classes: Keeper and Shade. This extension also makes the shadowlands accessible to players.
Then there is the "Alien Invasion" extension. In this expansion, you explore aliens and the technology, weapons and amours associated with them. Groups can now build whole cities that will improve their incomes. The players can now have their own stores inside the market buildings.
The newest extension is called "Lost Eden". This extension will make the clash between the two (three if you count the neutrals) clashing groups increase as you gain access to orbiting stations around Rubi-Ka. You also get new technologies and weapons.
